The one-year subscription provides access to the web-based versions for both computer and smartphone access. The purpose of these yearly updates is to provide a comprehensive and current resource to assist clinicians taking care of patients at the point-of-care. The online version is extremely useful as it may be bookmarked and accessed quickly with a minimal number of keystrokes. This is a very useful resource, simple enough for anyone in patient care to use, yet complete enough for use by physicians in the everyday care of patients. The contributors are practicing physicians who know their subjects well, as well as how to impart practical information. All the necessary information is here, unencumbered with prose. The "Signs and Symptoms" section uses numerous helpful algorithms that enable readers to get right into the practical aspects of patient care. This is a very useful quick reference that would be a great addition for an office, with the significant advantage that it can be accessed online. The smartphone version is somewhat difficult to use.
